Privacy Policy for Journex

Journex ("we," "our," or "the app") is a fitness and wellness app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Journex mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email (or sign-in method), display name, optional profile photo, bio, and optional social handles (e.g. Instagram, TikTok) that you choose to add.
• Workout and fitness data: Workout templates, session logs (exercises, sets, reps, weights), and preferences such as preferred unit (metric/imperial).
• Food and nutrition data: Food logs, macro goals, and related nutrition information you enter.
• Forum and community content: Posts, comments, likes, and reports you submit in the in-app forum. If you report content, we store the report (including your user ID and the reported content) for moderation.
• Device and usage: We use Firebase (Google) for authentication, database, and storage. This may include standard analytics and crash data as permitted by Firebase and your device settings.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve the app (workouts, food logging, forum, profile).
• To sync your data across your devices when you are signed in.
• To enforce our community guidelines (e.g. reviewing reported posts and comments).
• To respond to support requests (e.g. via Contact Us / Instagram).
• To comply with law and protect safety where required.

3. Data Storage and Third Parties

Your data is stored and processed using Firebase (Google), including Authentication, Firestore, and Storage. Google's privacy practices apply to that processing: Google Privacy Policy.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their marketing.

4. Your Choices and Rights

• Access and export: You can export your data (e.g. sessions and backups) from within the app (Settings → Export).
• Correction: You can update your profile and preferences in the app.
• Deletion: You can delete your account and associated data at any time via Settings → Delete account. This removes your account and data from our systems and signs you out.
• Photo library: The app may ask for access to your photo library to set a profile picture or add images to forum posts. You can deny or revoke this in your device settings.

5. Security

We use industry-standard practices (including Firebase security) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we encourage you to use a strong password and keep your device secure.

6. Children

Journex is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy at this URL (or in the app) and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
